| About the Initiator |
|
This venture is an accidental result of a long-term vision of a person X. It is accidental in the sense that it is only a recent realization on his part that the best way to do philosophy in the contemporary world is not to develop a superior isolation from the world rather it can happen much better while merging with the formless flow of people, groups, events and ideas. It is a space meant for exchange; an exchange meant to transfer utility from one to the other. Philosophy may assume to cater to higher forms of this utilitarian exchange but ultimately, the science of exchange is what drives the professional philosophers around the world. The commerce of exchange is a necessary and unavoidable adjunct. It is better to sell a well prepared philosophy lecture to a naxalite or a Rambhakt for one rupee than to proclaim the allegiance of an ideological left or right. Liberty of thought and action is the most relevant achievement for him. Does it make him a libertarian? No need to even proclaim that. A philosopher is as much an outsider as an insider he is. He is not situated in a representation because all of them are partial in nature. There is another prime reason behind it that he has spent his time with some of the best minds of both the left and the right. The tragedy of the fact is that almost all these minds finally had to leave their organizations to regain their sanity. They may still be empathetic to these stances but they have no sympathy for the ideological apparatus constructed by these extreme positions. There is a certain hegemonic madness behind their bureaucratic structures. This kind of pendulum swinging finally led to only one option that the truth is an ecological discovering where a process takes over a position and hence cannot be straightjacketed. As far as the background of the initiator is concerned, he has certain elements of good luck behind him. He got the opportunity to read and learn from both the body-less and bodied philosophers of the land. The prominent effect of the body-less that is still active is that of M. M. Gopinath Kaviraj and Ramchandra Gandhi. And the bodied ones who refined and guided him are Vaagish Shukla, Rustam Singh, Udayan Vajpeyi, Harjinder Singh Laltu, Prabal Pramanik and Mahesh Dutt Sharma. At the most, he may be a bad learner but he does not regard himself among the good ones. His weaknesses are entirely his own and should in no way, disturb the goodwill and status owned by these persons. Nonetheless, a text that really has given a background to his work is that of Mahabharata. If there is a deep structure of thought, then it may be from there. |
